Minutes of the October 10, 2001
New Jersey Computer Club Meeting
John
O'Neill, NJCC's Treasurer, made a presentation demonstrating Intuit's
QuickBooks for small businesses.
Fred
Sabin, NJCC President, introduced newcomers at the business portion of the
meeting which began at 8:12 p.m. Total attendance of members and guests
was approximately 38. We are looking for someone to help with the
refreshments.
Fred
went on to discuss NJCC
and Raritan Valley Community College's Computer Club joint meeting on October
17, 2001. The new Windows XP operating system will be
the main subject of this
meeting. There will be four additional workshops. Administrative details,
including parking directions, were discussed. The meeting which begins at
6:30 p.m. will include refreshments courtesy of RVCC.
Per
the NJCC Constitution & By-Laws (Article 7 / Section 1), election of Officers for 2002 will be held at the November 14th Meeting. The NJCC
Executive Committee will nominate the incumbents to serve another year. Nominations may also be made from the floor, but no individual's name may
be placed in nomination without his/her current consent. The newly elected officers will assume office on January 1st of
2002.

Beck discussed future programs. He anticipates a demo on the uses of
Excel on Nov. 14th. There will be no meeting on November 21st, which is
the day before Thanksgiving. December 12th will be the Holiday Party
with possible presentations by Tom Kehoe for newcomers and John Biegel
on year-end tax reviews.

The
Minutes of the last general meeting and the Treasurer's Report, as
posted in the Newsletter on the "njcc.org" website, were
approved, followed by a break at 8:30 p.m.

After
the break, John O'Neil resumed his role as presenter. This time he
focused on NJCC finances. The Club has total assets of $8511.15,
$2136.95 committed to the scholarship fund.
